If it looks the same as the European Sunny the resistor is located on the (right hand drive) passanger side. Under the dashboard (or under the glove box) the blower is located.
The resistor is located in the blower housing (so the heat is blown away).
The resistor is connected by a 4 pin long connector. Pull this one out and unscrew the 2 screws that are located near the 4pin. Then you can get the whole (creditcard) resistor out.
Replacing the resistor in Holland costs about 60 euros, but in the us the come around $15.
