Who is Rod Redline from cars 2?

Rod Redline is an american agent that snaped the photo from the engine. He was gonna contact finn mcmissle in the party where mater and mcqueen are, rod goes in the men's restroom just when two bad guys come mater was there but they told him to leave and at the same time rod puted his chip in mater thats were hollie and mcmissle think that mater is rod. After that the bad guys capture rod and take him to professor z were they aim the camera at him, they ask him on what car has the chip they have a photo of him and mater and find out that its mater from there they shoot rod and he explodes.....but i think that he didnt die because he comes out in cars 2 the video game so jesus crist let rod be alive!!!
