When did Paleolithic first appear?

The Paleolithic era, also known as the Old Stone Age, first appeared approximately 2.6 million years ago and lasted until around 10,000 BCE. It is characterized by the development of early human tools made of stone, as well as the emergence of hunter-gatherer societies.
