How do they choose leaders in the athenian democracy?

Well, at first they didn't really have a couple "Leaders" (besides pericles, and then the Romans came and stuff changed)

They had the Boule. (Boo-lee)

And they were chosen by lottery. Draws etc. Each person could only be chosen ... I think twice.

Only Athenian male citizens could lead.
