That is where the condenser coil is. The condenser coil is supposed to be hot. Be sure to keep it clean so it functions optimally.

A fridge works by taking heat from the food inside, and pumping it out to the radiator panel outside. Logically, the panel will need to disperse/spread the heat to the outside environment, making it quite hot.
