What are the negatives of children usage on the internet?

Well, there are a lot of problems: first, there are many child predators online and children do not understand the importance of private information. Second, kids use social networks that they are too young for. Hell, I found a fifth grader on MySpace. And she said her age, had photos of herself that could show where she lived, and talked to strangers. MySpace is one of the most dangerous social networks for children. Third, there are many things that children shouldn't be viewing on the internet. These things include pornography, language, horror images, inappropriate Music Videos, and offensive or racist material. Kids can be easily disturbed by these sorts of things. If you are having an issue with your child's use of the internet, I recommend adult supervision during use, a filter or virus protector, a pop-up blocker, and child locks that put a firewall on restricted websites, like MySpace or YouTube. Encourage your child to become more involved in things that don't involve media, like a club or sports team.
