Arthur Conan Doyle was buried twice. After his death in 1930, he was initially interred in a cemetery in Crowborough, England. However, in 1939, his remains were exhumed and reburied in a more prominent location at the Minstead Churchyard in the New Forest, where he wished to be laid to rest near the grave of his close friend, Bertram Fletcher Robinson.
