What verb tense should a memoir be in?

memoir is a noun so it shouldn't be in any verb tense.

But the noun memoir can be used in any verb tense.

present - He is writing his memoirs.

past - He finished writing his memoirs last year.

future - He is going to publish his memoirs next year.
