What kinda problems did the once-lers family population cause for the environment(the lorax)?

The Factory polluted lakes causing the fish to leave, polluted the air causing the birds to leave, and cut down all of the trees which took away the bears food source. The whole ecosystem was messed up and all that was left was various types o grasses.
