Is Walmart a wholesaler

Walmart is a large chain retailer that is also a wholesaler for itself. When Walmart was formed, none of the wholesalers at the time were willing to provide service to a business that was as geographically remote (Arkansas) as Walmart was. Therefore wholesalers were shut out of Walmart's business model.
