As of the latest reports from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), there are approximately 18,000 white rhinos remaining in the wild. The majority of these are Southern white rhinos, while the Northern white rhino population is critically endangered, with only two individuals left, both of which are female and under protection. Conservation efforts continue to be crucial for the survival of both subspecies.
