Are moles related to hedgehogs

Moles and hedgehogs are not closely related, but they do share some similarities as small, burrowing mammals. Moles belong to the family Talpidae, while hedgehogs are part of the Erinaceidae family. Both animals have adaptations for digging and a similar insectivorous diet, but their evolutionary paths diverged millions of years ago.
