Is it illegal to hunt Bald Eagles?

Indeed. It is the U.S. national bird, native to only the U.S. It was on the endangered species list, but the numbers are still low enough to send the bird back. Shooting is intent to kill, according to the police department. No, it is NOT legal to shoot a bald eagle, unless in self defense. I have never heard of someone shooting a Bald Eagle in self defense.
