In kensukes kingdom page100 how and why did kensukes and michels relationship change?

Kensuke and Michael got closer day by day . Michael outrageously got stung by a jelly fish . Kensuke helped him (as always ) and permitted him to stay at his cave. They both shared their own gritty stories. They trusted each other , did fun things together such as playing football , painting , fishing etc. This is how they got closer.

Why .....i have a question for you .....Why did u and ur father get closer and closer since u were a baby?? (dont take it in a bad way , i am just giving an example :) )
