- Some people think that the quick and easy way to lose weight is a crash diet. The weight lost, however, quickly returns. Once we get over the fact that there is no overnight fix, and apply will power, and follow corrective eating habits for weight loss, such as the Protein Power Plan, or The Paleolithic Diet, or the South Beach Diet, or even Weight Watchers, the easier it becomes. Our bodies need the right nutrients to be healthy so it's a matter of the types of food we eat (not just quantities).
- Everyone says it, but it is true, exercise and eating correctly is the answer. Cut out ice cream and chocolate and all other refined processed carbohydrates (apart from the rare treat). Eat more low carbohydrate vegetables and fruit, eat whole wheat not white bread. (However, bread or grains of any kind can make many people gain weight.) Switch from regular soda/pop to diet or Coke Zero.
- Try 10-20 crunches or sit ups a day, do about 10-20 jumping jacks, 10 push ups, and run or cardio walk daily or every other day.
- Play a cardio sport or join a gym. If you have Dance Dance Revolution play it as often as you can if you don't choose to exercise the other ways. You could also ride a bike, skateboard, Rollerblade, or hike. One last tip, on every break from work, school, or whatever, get exercise.
- More tips: Brush your teeth every time you are tempted by snacking or eating. Drink glass of water every time you feel hungry. Burn an extra 500 calories a day. Learn some isometric exercises like squats, push ups and lunges. Make sure to eat good variety of healthy vegetables and some fruits. Do regular cardiovascular exercise. Diet pills can be dangerous and they either don't work or if they do work the weight piles back on, and usually more than you lost, as soon as you stop taking them.
