Martin Scorcese's 2011 film about the early days of moviemaking in France was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won five -- Best Cinematography (Robert Richardson), Art Direction (Dante Ferretti, Francesco Lo Schiavo), Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
The movie also received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (Scorsese), Adapted Screenplay (John Logan), Best Original Score (Howard Shore), Best Costume Design (Sandy Powell) and Best Film Editing (Thelma Schoonmaker).
