To recondition a wok, first, thoroughly clean it with hot water and a non-abrasive scrubber to remove any residue or old seasoning. Next, dry it completely over low heat to prevent rust. Apply a thin layer of high smoke point oil, like vegetable or grapeseed oil, and heat the wok over medium-high heat until it starts to smoke. Allow it to cool, then wipe off excess oil, repeating the oil application process a few times to build up a non-stick seasoning layer.
