To ensure successful growth and blooming of a Yoshino cherry tree, plant it in well-draining soil with plenty of sunlight. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and plant the tree at the same depth it was in the nursery. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, and mulch around the base of the tree to retain moisture. Prune the tree in late winter or early spring to promote healthy growth and flowering.
