Harry Houdini, the famous illusionist and escape artist, died on October 31, 1926, from complications related to a ruptured appendix. Prior to his death, he had been suffering from abdominal pain, which he attributed to a punch he received in the stomach from a college student who wanted to test Houdini's claim of being able to withstand any blow. Despite undergoing surgery, he developed peritonitis, leading to his death. Houdini's passing occurred on Halloween, a date that has since contributed to his mystique and legacy in the world of magic.
