Are fireflies good pets

Yes! If you care for fireflies properly, they can live for up to a month or more! Obtain a damp plastic/glass jar and place grass on the base of the jar. If you intend to release them the following day, this will suffice. However, if you want to care for them through their entire lifespan, more needs to be done. Place a leaf, sugar water, and some soft-bodied insects so that the fireflies have a choice of what to eat. Then place the fireflies in. Place some mesh on all the openings. Now put the fireflies jar in a warm, damp place. KEEP THE JAR HUMID.
