Why are invasive plants sometimes considered weeds?

That a weed can be defined as any plant that is not in the place that the cultivator or owner desires it to be is the reason that invasive plants sometimes are considered weeds.

Specifically, there are two widely accepted definitions of weeds. One describes weeds as plants whose benefits are forgotten or unknown. The other designates them as meeting the above-mentioned criteria. The first term tends to be applied in regard to native plants that exhibit invasive tendencies. The second definition often will be used in terms of non-natives that are introduced by the horticultural industry or transportation departments for specific purposes and reasons.
