What is a good fire type pokemon for Pokemon FireRed?

a good fire type pokemon would be charizard. you could teach it flamethrower burn blast heat wave and dragon claw. you could get it by getting a starter pokemon charmander and training it until it learns a fire move and then go battle some grass type.

Moltres is good but you get him late in the game so choose charizard

If you already have chosen a different starter, there arent many good fire pokemon at all. Magmar is good, but you can only catch it in LeafGreen. You have growlithe/Arcanine who is a fire type, but more physical than fire. The same issue applies to Flareon. Those to are both better in attack than sp.attack. My suggestion would be to either get an Flareon or Arcanine, despite its "disadvantage" as a fire pokemon. You can always give it some of that [Insert mineral name] that gives higher sp.attack.

if you havent chosen charizard already growlithe is a good pokemon to catch an it learns flame wheel at level 31 and flamethrower at level 49 but i think it is better to buy 4000 coins at the game corner in celadon city to get tm thirty five flamethrower so you can evolve it into arcanine earlier with a fire stone

i evolved my growlithe at level 31 and since it has evolved into arcanine it has not fainted once its now level 41

that is just my opinion oh and i have a raichu and blastoise at the same level as arcanine and arcanine is the best special attacker
