What else can shut down the engine on 1987 gm suberban?

Do you have spark? Is the engine getting fuel? Did the timing chain fail? If you need help with any of these questions feel free to post on my message board I will help you more. I have 30 years in working on vehicles and am more than glad to help out.

GM if there is no spark the first thing I look at is the pickup in the distributor. If there is 12 volts in the wire plugged into the distributor and no spark that about has to be it. Lots of other things too, it's just a process of elimination.
