How much water on life raft?

each liferaft is equippped with water to support the full complement it can hold.the amount is 0.5 litres for each member to be taken daily except in the first 24 hrs.in total each person has 1.5 litres to himself.with sufficient time of escape from the ship extra water and provision can be carried to the liferaft.this arrangement however can be supplemented by a desalting device capable of producing an equal capacity of water in 2 hours.the liferaft is also built in such a way that it can trap rain water that may be used for drinkin.note that sea water SHOULD NOT be taken.
