How do you remove paint from car surface?

There are several ways to remove paint from cars and a lot depends on what the under surface is made of in making a decision. If the under surface is steel or aluminum you can use chemicals or abrasives without harming the underside's. If it is plastic care must me taken before using chemicals or abrasives chemicals might melt the plastic so it would be best to try a very small part first. Abrasive might also eat through the undersuface very rapidly so that needs to be checked out as well. So the main ways are chemical stripping abrasive that would be sanding with sandpaper or grinding discs but care must be taken to not leave very deep sanding scratches if the parts are going to be repainted. And finally blasting with sand or glass beads or even walnut shells this is called media blasting and works well for special uses.
