When my previa gets hot it looses all power to engine and then cuts out?

It sounds like you ECT ECU - which is your Electronic Constrol Transmission. You do not need a new transmission ECT is the control unit for the transmission and will need to be reflashed or replaced. Afterwhich your transmission will work like new.
