Stick insects do not undergo complete metamorphosis like butterflies or beetles. Instead, they experience an incomplete metamorphosis, where they hatch from eggs as nymphs that resemble miniature versions of adults. As they grow, they molt several times, gradually developing into their adult form without a distinct larval stage. This process allows them to maintain their cryptic appearance throughout their development.
