Will you lose weight after colectomy?

I think this will vary from individuals. I lost almost a third of my body weight through Ulcerative Colitis but after the total colectomy I started (very slowly at first) putting weight back on. After my body adjusted to the new Plumbing situation (this took about 3 months) and with the help of Loperamide I have got back to a healthy weight.
