Should you get a sheltie

The Shetland Sheepdog, or Sheltie, looks like a miniature copy of the Rough Coated Collie. The main colours tend to be Blue Merle, Sable, and Black. White and brown/tan can be mixed in. Shetland Sheepdogs are loyal, intelligent, willing, and eager to please, resulting in a wonderful companion dog. They are docile and alert and have a pleasant temperament. Shelties are a breed of herding dog, capable both of commanding large cattle and holding small sheep in check. Shelties like to be kept busy, and in many their herding instinct is strong, so they enjoy chasing things. They need daily walks to relieve mental and physical energy. Life expectancy is about 12-15 years. In terms of grooming, regular brushing is important to keep your Sheltie looking happy and healthy.
