Line up piston at TDC or top dead center. The "T" mark on the flywheel is facing the arrow. Line "O" up on the cam sprocket so it is on the top with the two cam sprocket bolts in-line running horizontal. The valve clearance for intake & exhaust is the same, - .05 mm (.002 in). The adjustment is done in a cold engine.
