St. Ignatius of Loyola lived primarily in Spain, where he was born in 1491. After his conversion, he spent significant time in the region of Catalonia and later moved to Rome, where he established the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1534. Ignatius also traveled to various parts of Europe for his missionary work and to spread the Jesuit order. He died in Rome in 1556.
