Do you need a license to become a surgeon?

Would you let anyone who wasn't licensed come near you with a scalpel? I wouldn't! Yes, doctors are all licensed to practise their specialty.
Well you need a medical license like all other doctors, but I do not believe you need a specific license to be a surgeon.
