Muslims, like Christians, have varied cuisines in different parts of the world and generally eat whatever people in that area of the world eat, but with certain categories of food forbidden, or haram. This includes pork (and shellfish for some Muslim groups) and a few other things. Permitted foods are called halal, and strict Muslims insist on these being prepared in specialized ways.
If you're familiar with the Jewish kashrut, halal is very similar to, but a little less stringent than kosher, while haram is much the same as treyf.
