Depending on the individual species, most are sparrow-sized (or smaller) brown birds, with some white or buff color, and a longish, slightly down curved beak. They hold their short tails cocked-up in a "jaunty" position as they hop from branch to branch or hop on the ground from leaf to leaf flipping each leaf over looking for insects.
