Where did the word noob come from?

it could have ... but it also could have came from the game Mortal Kombat. there is a character named Noob saibot, which is the last names of the guys who made it spelled backWords(Boon and tobais), and when you vs. im as a computer he only did one thing and that was telaport behind you and hit you... so from him only doing one thing he was a noob. it also means that noob is someone isnt good at something and they only did one thing this is the gamer term for noob.
