Baby pikas, called kits, are born hairless and blind, relying on their mothers for warmth and nutrition. Over the first few weeks, they develop fur, open their eyes, and begin to explore their environment. As they grow, they gradually transition to solid food, typically consisting of grasses and herbs. By the end of their first summer, they are fully weaned and ready to live independently as adults.
