How does petroleam work?

Petroleum, or crude oil, is a fossil fuel formed from the remains of ancient marine organisms buried under layers of sediment. Over millions of years, heat and pressure transformed these organic materials into hydrocarbons, which can be extracted and refined. The refining process separates crude oil into various products, such as gasoline, diesel, and other petrochemicals, which are used for energy, transportation, and manufacturing. When burned, these hydrocarbons release energy, powering engines and generating electricity.
