William Wrigley Jr. was raised in a working-class family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born in 1861, he was the second of six children in a family that valued hard work and entrepreneurship. His father, a successful soap manufacturer, instilled in him a strong work ethic, which influenced Wrigley's later business ventures. After moving to Chicago as a young man, he eventually found success in the Chewing Gum industry, building the Wrigley Company into a major brand.
