What is a PC Computer?

PC stands for Personal Computer. A PC is the type of computer that you would normally use at home or at work.

The alternative home computer is an Apple Macintosh.

The PC was invented by IBM, but the architeture was allowed to be copied and improved, by many other manufacturers. PCs can run various operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and Linux etc.

This allows flexibility, cheapness and a variety of manufacturers. It suffers due to attempts to keep things compatible and yet include improvements.

Apple, on the other hand, do not allow others to make Macs and only run their own operating system.
