On club penguin do you pay in real life to be a member or on Club Penguin?

On CP there are two things: Non-Member and Members.

When you first start Club Penguin you are a Non-Member which is 100% free. But being a non-member isn't as fun as being a member as you cant buy clothes or things for your igloo and you can only have two puffles of red or blue.

Being a member is much more fun but you unfortuanly have to pay for it- you can either have a membership of 1 month - 5.95$, 6 months - 29.95$, 12 months - 57.95$.

Its completely up to you whether your a member or not. If you don't play CP alot it will be a bit of a waist of money but if you do play it alot it wont be wasted. If you do want to be a member i would recommend the 6 months.
