It varies, of course. Some pottery can be very expensive, prohibitively expensive to those who aren't wealthy. Some pottery, of course, can be bought cheaply. It all depends on who made it, what materials were used, the quality and of course, when it was made.

Average/lower end pottery is certainly affordable to the average person.
