Sir Thomas More was executed at Tower Hill in London on July 6, 1535. He was sentenced to death for treason due to his refusal to accept King Henry VIII's separation from the Catholic Church and his opposition to the King's marriage to Anne Boleyn. More's execution was carried out by beheading, and he is remembered as a martyr for his beliefs.
