1988 Honda prelude 4ws auto transmission stuck in second gear when coldbut shifts well when warmwhat could be the problem?

drain the box and change the oil is this dosent work try changing out the auto solenoids if they are available cheap otherwse there is not much you can do but bring it to a Honda agent and expect to pay big bucks for the fix.
