Is it possible to reset a non working Sleep Number Bed's mattress remote, which is not working?

It is possible to reset a non working Sleep Number Bed's matress remote, which is not working. This an be done by first unplugging it, then plugging it back in and simultaneously pressing the up and down buttons. After "C1" is displayed, release the buttons.
