IF a CD player on a 2002 Jaguar XK8 will only display no disc but the magazine is full and the radio works fine any suggestions on what might be wrong?

Could be the connector to the CD unit ( I had same problem on my XKR ) In the trunk take the side panel off surrounding the CD changer and check the connector that plugs into the car wiring loom. Mine had 2 corroded pins, I cut the wires and soldered jumpers across the connector.
