Why are animals kept in small cages when getting experimented on?

They use animals to check if the chemicals used in certain products are safe for the use of humans. So, if the animal reacts in the correct way they'll know if the chemical is safe or not. Sometimes animals are used unnecessairily to test cosmetics and food products. Animal testing is wrong and shouldn't be happening Hope this helps
