How do you use berlese funnel?

A Berlese funnel is used to extract small organisms from soil or leaf litter samples. To use it, place your sample in a container with a mesh screen at the bottom, and position a collection jar filled with alcohol or water beneath the funnel. As light is applied from above, the heat drives organisms downward, causing them to fall through the mesh and into the liquid below.
