well it is usally because they tend to fell more secure and at ease with people who think and feel in a similar way to them- a form of release form "clear the drainer, do your homework"- the atmosphere of some tennagers life can be crushing with the amount of pressure that they are put under. socialisisng relaxes them and gives them axchance to explain their situation with someone who they believe can be more empathetical to their problems, and vice versa. it is much easier to yalk to someone who has experienced something the same, and who will reply in a way that makes them feel positive. also, they spend six hours a day with their peers- it can be rather lonely to be on your own or with younger/ older siblings- it can feel like a fight for attention. sometimes relaxing with peers is the ideal escape- nohing can cheer most of them up that a long day with friends- the perfect escape
