Coretta Scott King was born on April 27, 1927, in Heiberger, Alabama. She married Martin Luther King Jr. on June 18, 1953, and became an influential civil rights leader alongside him. After his assassination in 1968, she continued to advocate for social justice and equality, founding the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta. Coretta passed away on January 30, 2006, leaving behind a legacy of activism and commitment to civil rights.
