How many gallons of waste motor oil is collected a year?

In the USA almost 53% of waste motor oil is recycled for re-use or refining for fuel energy purposes. That leaves 47% of the 625 million gallons uncollected.

Globally, as motor vehicles average 3 to 5 gallons per year and the world vehicle count is expected to be 1 billion by 2010, there will be nearly 4 billion gallons requiring collection and recycling.
